Wiring a Switch and a Light:
This diagram shows how to wire a switch and a light. In this circuit diagram, we want to describe how to connect a light with a 2-way switch. In this circuit diagram, we use 2 two-way switches, a light, and a convenience switch. If you want to know more details, please check our youtube video at the below link.

Frequently Asked Questions
Connect the Line (brown) wire coming from the light together with the black wire from the 3 Core & Earth cable into the L1 terminal of the two-way switch. Connect the blue of the wire with the brown sleeve coming from the light to the L2 terminal, together with the three Core & Earth cable's grey wires.
The brown cable is fitted to the COM (Common) terminal. The blue cable would be fitted with a brown collar, or fixed to the L1 terminal. The brown of the cable is the live cable, while the blue cable is the switched live.
L1 or L2 are “line 1” and “line 2,” and “COM” is “common.” Depending on the position of the switch, either L1 or L2 is connected to “common”—hence the name; it is the terminal that is “in common” between the two of the positions.
C means common) In order for you to be able to use a smart switch you would have to get a neutral from the lighting circuit diagram pulled down to the switch, which in some cases could be tricky and may require some work! Hope this helps you.
By using the loop-at-the-light method, electricians could loop out to other lights along the same circuit diagram, or even to separate lights that are switched on through another circuit diagram. This means that 2 -lights might have the same power supply cable but each of them could have its own individual switch.
