Components used to make the 3-Phase to 1-Phase Sub Energy Meter:
01. 3-Phase Energy Meter
|
Fig 2:Â 3-Phase Energy Meter |
The measuring device with the help of which the electric power or energy of a circuit is measured is called Energy Meter (Energy Meter). Also called a watt-hour or kilowatt-hour meter. For home appliances, we used a single-phase energy meter and for commercial or industrial applications we used a three-phase energy meter. For power above 10KW, we use three-phase energy meters. We also called these meters poly-phase meters. The three-segment meter additionally statistics consumption in kVAH and kVArH.
02. 1-Phase Energy Meter

The measuring device with the help of which the electric power or energy of a circuit is measured is called Energy Meter (Energy Meter). Also called a watt-hour or kilowatt-hour meter. For home appliances, we used a single-phase energy meter. The single-phase energy meter is directly connected between the line and the load. Both coils produce their magnetic fields, when the meter is connected to the supply line, and the load. Energy meters are used in homes and in industrial applications where we want to found that how much energy is being consumed by home appliances and electrical equipment.
03. DP MCB
|
Fig 4:Â DP MCB |
Double pole MCB can control two wires. This circuit breaker is generally used in single-phase electric lines. Double pole MCB circuit breaker input has two wires supply two wires and an output. In a single-phase line, A double-pole MCB circuit breaker is used to give good production. This circuit breaker is provided through phase and neutral circuit breaker, it is very safe. This circuit breaker is preferred for home appliances. A DP MCB usually trips for 2 reasons 1. Overload 2. Short circuit.
4. TP MCCB
|
Fig 5:Â TP MCCB |
MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breakers) is a Required Component of Electrical Systems, Providing Overload Protection And Short-Circuit Protection. Circuit breakers are electrical devices that offer protection against fault currents. Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) or Molded Case Circuit Breakers Use air as The Dielectric Medium to Break a Circuit. Air Has a Low Dielectric Strength as Opposed to Other Mediums Which is why it is Used for Protection in low-Voltage Circuits. In Most Cases, Molded Case Circuit Breakers are installed in the Main Power Distribution Board of a Facility, Allowing the system to be easily shut Down When Necessary.
5. Busbar
|
Fig 6:Â Busbar |
Busbar is a type of power transmission sheet. It is made of copper or brass or aluminum. Busbar is mostly used in factories. We supply the power from the transformer to the busbar. Busbars have electricity. We take the electricity from this busbar to the circuit breaker. The busbar is drilled with a drill machine and the cable is connected with a nut bolt. The advantage of using a busbar is that through it we can provide multiple power connections in multiple places very easily.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you connect a 3-phase line to a single phase?
By far the simplest method of obtaining a single-phase output from a 3-phase supply is to place a single-phase transformer across two phases of a 3 phase supply. The effect of this system is to pull the full rated current in two of the supply lines and zero current in the third line.
How to convert 3-phase kW to a single phase?
Converting a 3-phase load into a single phase simply requires you to divide by 3. In doing so you have not changed the magnitude of the load, as you will still need to sum up all of the loads on each phase to get the entire load.
Why is 3-phase so expensive?
Installation Costs: Generally, installing a three-phase electrical system is more expensive than a single-phase system due to the complexity of its components and the need for additional wiring.
Which phase meter is best with a solar system?
For a 3-phase connection, on the other hand, there are a number of options. In most cases, the best and simplest option is to get a 3-phase inverter, which will distribute the solar power evenly across all three phases.
Is 3-phase power cheaper?
Changing your connection from a single-phase to a three-phase power supply will not incur any additional costs on your electricity bill, if anything you will have a more efficient electrical system and could find cost savings on your electricity power bill.
